Having retired from a career in the newspaper industry, I now enjoy painting, mainly in oils, taking inspiration from my surroundings, whether on my travels or through experiences and photographs.

MY JOURNEY

Born and shaped in Scotland. An inspirational, sometimes even magical place, full of myths and legends.

Painting has come at a later stage in my life, in fact, I believe art has changed me and my perspective on life itself.

Embrace and enjoy, doing the things you love.

This will grow over a period of time, showing a selection of subject matter which has caught my eye and inspired me to put some paint down, by brush, knife and sometimes in the ultimate tactile way, my fingers.

This painting was created by pouring acrylic paint in various colours, dragging, allowing to flow together. After that, left to dry and the subsequent shapes were developed using oil paint. I guess you could say the painting dictated where the image would finish up. Now in a private collection.
